Over the past few months, JOC Consulting has been assisting the NSW Government’s Office of Open Space and Parklands with facilitation services for their ‘Everyone Can Play Advisory Group’ (ECPAG) meetings.
The inspiring members that make up ECPAG have provided ongoing and regular advice, review and feedback to help inform the development of the Inclusive Playspace Guidelines. These Guidelines will provide anyone involved with the construction, installation and management of playspaces (including designers, manufacturers and Councils) with the tools to realise spaces where ‘everyone can play’.
In 2018, the NSW Government has committed $100 million to secure strategic open green space while also setting aside an extra $20 million to build more than 200 new or upgraded playgrounds that are more inclusive and engaging. The announcement is the first part of the NSW Government’s new $290 million Open Spaces and Greener Sydney package.
