GOAL
Following the success of the Burwood After Dark Strategy and Economic Development Discussion Paper, Burwood Council commissioned JOC Consulting to prepare a Visitation & Investment Prospectus to market Burwood as a dynamic destination for business, entertainment and recreation. With Burwood undergoing large-scale urban renewal and emerging as one of Sydney’s most diverse and fastest-growing centres, Council’s goal was a standalone deliverable that could translate the strategic vision of Burwood After Dark into a compelling, investor-facing case for the City’s future.
SOLUTION
JOC Consulting drew on the evidence base built through the After Dark Strategy and Sustainable East’s Economic Development Discussion Paper including economic analysis, demographic data, business activity mapping and more than 400 community and business voices to develop two companion documents:
- A Visitation Prospectus, showcasing Burwood’s precincts, projects and experiences for visitors and the broader community;
- An Investment Prospectus, setting out Burwood’s strategic growth corridors, major public domain upgrades and clear pathways for future investment, positioning the City’s thriving multicultural dining and nightlife scene as a key economic asset.
Both documents translate statewide priorities into a local growth story, connecting Burwood’s cultural vibrancy directly to its investment case.
OUTCOME
The Burwood Investment & Visitation Prospectus gives Council a polished, ready-to-use platform to attract investors, businesses and visitors to Burwood. It sits alongside the After Dark Strategy as a standalone marketing and investment-attraction tool, published on Council’s website for prospective partners, developers and the public. As Burwood continues to be recognised as one of Sydney’s leading night-time destinations, the Prospectus gives Council a clear, evidence-backed story to tell about Burwood’s future.
